We made a Thanksgiving leaf garland a few weeks ago. We collected some leaves from our neighborhood, flattened them between a stack of books for about a week, and then decorated them with metallic paint markers. My oldest daughter told me things she was thankful for and I wrote them on the leaves for her. She decorated most of them. This project, as well as most projects we do, come from The Artful Parent or my friend in Prague.

nature walk - baskets are always required to collect our treasures.
we took our favorite findings from our nature walk and sandwiched them between sheets of clear contact paper. my oldest made a tree and my youngest just fit as many objects as she could.
color mixing, handprints, and then a fall tree (i didn't get a picture of the completed tree, but you can imagine all the little handprints cut out and pasted above brown paper for a tree.)
And no, I didn't braid her hair. My neighbor's nanny came over that day with their 3 kiddos and braided my daughter's hair into a heart.
I used to think of Cailyn as being Hannah'a age - a wittle girl! But she looks oh so growing-up with her (crazy - i want them too) braids and those wonderful "show" hands in the turkey hat picture! Love the girls sharing ice-cream too!!!!
